Daniel Newman Obituary

Daniel Newman

Aug 7, 1956 - Jul 9, 2025

Findlay

Dan passed peacefully Wednesday, July 9, 2025, surrounded by family, after a year in which he faced cancer with grit, grace and humor. Dan was born in Sandusky August 7, 1956, the third of four children of William and Margaret Newman. He was raised in the home his father built alongside his sibling, Jan, Bill and Bob.

Childhood for Dan meant a lot of time on the lake, summers at Cedar Point as "Dollar Dan" the weight guesser, and many days (and nights) at Rancho Pillow Motel/South Shore Inn. He played basketball, football and softball, and enjoyed watching sports as well. He graduated from Saints Peter & Paul School, Sandusky High School, BGSU Firelands and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati.

Dan built his career as the proud owner of Impact Network Solutions since 1992.

In 1990, Dan married Julie (Young). Together, they built a family of four amazing kids, Genna (Cameron) Freed, Merredeth (Adarius) Brown, Cole (Hannah) Newman, and Olivia (Clayton) Lenhart. In addition, he was a proud grandpa to Mia Freed and Otto Lenhart. Dan attended all his kids' events. Every swim meet, soccer game, band concert, graduation ceremony and everything in between. He never stopped bragging about their many accomplishments (not that we asked him to).

Dan was the life of the party and somehow also the guy who made everyone else feel like they were. His friendships spanned all phases of life - from childhood buddies and college roommates to business connections, golf pals, and many parents he met through his kids. He never met a stranger. If you heard laughter in the room, Dan was part of it. He was a devoted, long-suffering Cleveland Browns fan who passed that burden to his children. We intend to carry on the hope and the heartbreak in his honor.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill; and grandson, Mac Newman.

He loved traveling, spending weekends at the family cottage on Lake Erie, being with family and friends, every cat who crossed his path, and having a good Belgian beer.

We invite friends to join us for Dan's Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Sandusky, followed by lunch at the parish to celebrate a life well-lived. Private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that donations be made to the Newman Family Fund for Cancer Patient Services at Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. Details can be found at community-foundation.com. https://www.community-foundation.com/funds/newman-family-fund

Our condolences to Dan's family. We hung around with Dan during his Rancho Pillow days as Mike and Dan played together on their city league softball team. Such great memories with such wonderful friends. Our many thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this most difficult time
