Sandusky

David E. Linden Jr., 86, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Providence Care Center after a brief illness.

David was born Aug. 8, 1937, in Youngstown, to David E. Sr. and Jane E. (Cribbs) Linden.

David was a 1955 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and 1960 graduate of the General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He served General Motors Corporation in engineering, accounting, and management positions in Warren, OH, Bristol, CT, Clark, NJ, and Sandusky, OH, retiring from the Delco Moraine Division in 1992. Following his retirement, he was a partner with his son, Doug, in Linden Custom Homes, serving as a general contractor, building single family homes in the Sandusky, Perkins, and Huron area.

David was a member of Calvary Temple in Sandusky and served religious congregations in each community as a teacher, youth leader, board member, and treasurer, and most recently was a member of Faith Church in Sandusky. He participated in civic and church programs in each of the communities including the Bristol Hospital Board, an organization officer and coach for Little League Baseball, United Way Committee, as an advisor for Junior Achievement, and scouting. He was a member of American Institute of Industrial Engineers (AIIE), Sales Analysis Institute certification (SAI), and the Kappa Sigma Kappa social fraternity. His hobbies included tennis, golf, reading, pets, pickleball, and sharing time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Chloe and Dr. Alex Csorba, Morgan (Edward PhD) English, Andrew Linden, Taylor (Sgt. Troy) Dillinger, David, Caroline, and Catherine Linden.

In addition to his grandchildren, David is survived by three children, Cheryl (Dr. Todd) Csorba of Hudson, Brad (Michaela) Linden of Sandusky, and Doug (Kay) Linden of Findlay; four great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Linden, and Penelope Dillinger and Callum Csorba; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlene E. Linden in 2018; and sister, Jane Pitzer.

Visitation for friends will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2024, until the time of David's funeral at 12 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

David and I were friends when he lived In Warren attending First Assembly of God. I knew his family very well and I'm sure he will be missed by his family and friends.
