David Bradley Olds, 82, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 18, 2022, surrounded by his family at Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

David was born July 31, 1940, in Sandusky, to the late Bradley G. and Ruth (Raab) Old.

Dave grew up in Sandusky, attending Holy Angels School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1958. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. After high school, he served in U.S. Navy, returning to Sandusky, where he married Lois (McEowen) Olds. David retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service. Dave volunteered at Sandusky State Theatre for many years and was also a member of American Legion Post #83 and AMVETS Post #17. He was an avid Cleveland Indians/Guardians and Browns fan.

David is survived by his sons, David (Shannon) Olds of Fremont and Daniel Olds of Sandusky; grandchildren, Mason and Kylah; sister-in-law, Joyce (Nutzki) Old; niece, Denise Hermes of Sandusky; nephew, Mike Old of Clyde; and their children and many friends.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Lois J. (McEowen) Olds in 2017; and brother, John "Jack" Old.

Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Father Jacob George will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky. Military honors will be presented by American Legion Post #83 and VFW #2529.
