Deborah Landenberg Obituary

Deborah L. Landenberg

Sep 4, 1947 - Jan 6, 2026

Norwalk

Deborah "Debbie" Landenberg departed for her final journey Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Born in Cleveland, Debbie spent most of her life in Norwalk, but also lived in Sandusky for a time. After graduating from Norwalk High School in 1965, she worked at Rotary Printing and was a telephone operator for GTE. However, Debbie's most important career was as a mom. She spent much of her life caring for her daughter, Robyn, and loved caring for children, especially her beloved grandson, Tanis.

Debbie was active in Girl Scouts throughout her life, both as a scout and later as a leader for several troops, including students in her daughter's special needs class. She loved traveling, especially to places with beaches, because she loved spending time by the water. Debbie loved flowers and collecting things, but she especially loved being around people. Her door was always open to friends and family.

Debbie is survived by her daughter, Kellie Pancost and husband Brian; her grandson, Tanis Pancost; sisters, Patricia Douglas and Barb Asmus and spouse Roger Asmus; and sister-in-law, Judy Fink; as well as several nieces and nephews, including Becky Burr Ducat.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Landenberg; daughter, Robyn Landenberg; parents, Robert and Sara Fink; brother, Robert Fink; and sister, Marti Fink.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church in Norwalk, of which Debbie was a lifelong member. Calling hours will be from 10-11 a.m. Lunch will follow services at Norwalk Elks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio, One Girl Scout Way, Macedonia, OH 44056 or Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.

Elaine Timmerman Lochner

Dear Kelly and family,
This is Elaine Timmerman Lochner (Timi), from Union, Ohio, and known to Debbie and our high school friends as Timi. Debbie and I were neighbors growing up on State Street, walked to school together, were in the same Girl Scout troup and just had lots of wonderful memories. It was only about a year ago that three other friends and Debbie, had supper together when we were in Norwalk. What a good time we had! Debbie was always a fun person to be around and always enjoyed getting together! I had made arrangements to be up there for the viewing and funeral, then Mother Nature decided to change my plans. Our roads down here (near Dayton, OH) were snow covered and more snow on the way. It's about a 3.5 hour drive to Norwalk on back roads after Findlay, OH, so I thought it best to stay home. Kelly, Barbie and other family members, I'm so sorry for your loss, but know Deb is with Bill now and is very happy! Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers; praying for God's presence to bring you peace and comfort as He gives strength for today and hope for tomorrow. Lovingly, Elaine Timmerman Lochner
