Delores R. (Cooper) Johnson, 73, of Sandusky, died Monday, May 29, 2023, at Spring Creek Rehabilitation, Green Springs.

She was born Oct. 23, 1949, in Sandusky, and was a 1968 graduate of Sandusky High School. Delores also graduated from Ohio University in 1972 with BSED in education. She taught 32 years in the Cleveland Municipal School District, retiring in June, 2004, and returned to Sandusky. During her teaching career, she received the 1993 "Finest Teacher of the Month Award," 1996-1997 Martha Holden Jennings Scholar Award, and 1999 Teacher Recognition Award.

She is survived by her sister, Frances L. (John) Arrington of Sandusky; brothers, Robert H. (Steve) Cooper of Kona, Hawaii, and Travis L. (Devonia) Cooper of Sandusky; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. Cooper Sr. and Joan D. (Hunter) Cooper; sister, Adrian F. Dorsey; brother, Brian A. Cooper Sr.; niece, Jameka Arrington; nephews, Jonathan Mayfield and Jason Dorsey; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

At the request of Delores, there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation will take place.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Toft Funeral Home and Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
