Demetric Clinton Obituary

Demetric "Niecy" Clinton

Mar 1, 1974 - May 19, 2025

Columbus

Demetric "Niecy" Clinton, 51, of Columbus and formerly of Sandusky, left us Monday, May 19, 2025.

Niecy was a proud graduate of Sandusky High School, and she entered the workforce with vigor and dedication. She spent years as a factory worker at Revere Plastics, where her colleagues became an extended family. Her work ethic and jovial nature left an indelible mark on those who collaborated with her. Niecy's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. As a devoted member of Emmanuel Temple Church, she found overwhelming joy and purpose. Her involvement in church activities was not merely a pastime but a calling. Niecy believed in the power of community and worship, and through her actions, she inspired others to seek a higher purpose. She was an avid lover of music, letting melodies uplift her soul and often leading her to dance with a spirit that was contagious.

She was the cherished wife of the late David Lee Clinton. A devoted mother to Davemedrion Abney. Niecy's role as a grandmother to Da'layah Michelle-Ann Abney was one she embraced with every ounce of her being, and the light of life shined brightest when she was with her. Her sisters in arms and in love, Alice Scott (Robert), Angela Smith (Jason), Mary Ann Daniels, and Sharlene Warren; and brother Nequan Warren, each of whom shared in the tapestry of her unforgettable story. Niecy cherished her relationships with stepchildren, David Clinton Jr., Deshawn Clinton, and Kashawn Paden; and stepdaughters, Latisha Clinton, Metchie Clinton, and Shrika Harvey. She also cherished her relationships with sisters-in-law, Queen Arrington, Cathy Young, Christine, Dorthy, and Josephine Clinton.

She was preceded in death by her adopted mother and aunt-sister, Eva Grace Pool, after the death of her parents, Hazel Cooley and Charlie Daniels. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Ester and Sarah; and brothers, Johnny and Jessie.
