Dennis E. St. Clair, 87, of Port Clinton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Lacarne, the son of Clayton and Esther (Rice) St. Clair. He married Joyce Arnold on Dec. 31, 1953, and she survives.
Dennis graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1953, worked as a timekeeper at Standard Products, served in U.S. Army National Guard from 1954-1966 where he was an ordinance parts specialist, and worked at Camp Perry as the facilities manager, retiring in 1995. Following his retirement, he worked at Lowe's until a stroke affected him at age 79.
Dennis enjoyed traveling, helping anyone in need, and especially loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Dennis' survivors include his wife, Joyce; son, Mark (Jolene) St. Clair; daughter, Jennifer (Gary) Walterbusch; son, Jeffrey (Judy) St. Clair; son, Scott St. Clair; grandchildren, Ryan (Sarah) Crawford, Megan Erdmann, Tabitha St. Clair, Michael St. Clair, Andrew St. Clair (Grace Reynolds), Jacob St. Clair, Rachel St. Clair, Rebecca Souza, and Joel Souza; great-grandchildren, Gage and Blaine Erdmann, Mason and Hannah Crawford, Savannah St. Clair, Justin Schottler, Blake Johnson, Oliver St. Clair, Emmit Chambers, Penelope Souza, Jocelyn Jamerson, and Jordan Carter; great-granddaughter, Isabella Ashby; and sister, Beverly (James) Johannson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan St. Clair; twin sister, Karen Giesler; and sister, Jean Christ.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, until the time of Dennis' funeral at 1 p.m. at Camp Perry Chapel, located in Camp Perry on the corner of Niagra and Lawrence Roads. Burial will follow at Lacarpe Cemetery with military honors.
Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice or Erie Township Fire and Rescue.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton.

Dennis was my first sergeant at Camp Perry in the National Guard. I was the company clerk and he did me many favors during my 6 years in service with him(1956-1962). I am now 87 and think back a lot. I finally just googled his name and found his obituary. Sorry he is no longer with us, but he is remembered.

So Sorry to hear about Dennis. I worked with Dennis at Lowes and he was the sweetest guy always willing to help anyone. He will be missed. The world lost a great person!
