Dimitrios L. "Scoot" Shelby, 52, Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
He was born in Sandusky but lived most of his life in Minnesota and California.
He loved sports, especially the San Diego Chargers, family gatherings, and joking with anybody who would listen. Dimitrios was a quiet man, but when he spoke, everybody listened.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Patricia Benford, Sandusky; brother, Curtis L. (Lori Spencer) Shelby, Minneapolis, Minnesota; aunts, Agnes Poole and Bobby Nelson; uncle, Mark Rivers; a host of cousins, nieces, nephew, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruby Shelby; grandfather, Sylvester Rivers; aunts, Norma Jean Rivers and Vashti Armstrong; uncle, Sylvester Rivers Jr.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of funeral services at noon Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
