Don M. Mayse, 95, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins, Colorado.

He was born May 21, 1927, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, to Millard and Nora (Barker) Mayse.

Don grew up in Sandy Hook and Elliottville, Kentucky as the son of a farmer until he moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan, to work at Ford Motor Company. He was drafted into U.S. Army and served in the Korean War as a combat infantryman with the 3rd Division. He returned to work at Ford Motor Company following his military service.

He married Edna Eldridge in 1955 at her family home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Don later transferred to the Ford Motor Company plant in Sandusky. Don was an injection mold die technician when he retired in1982 after 35 years with Ford.

Don, Edna, and their sons lived in homes that Don built in Castalia and Bellevue. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, cookouts, playing golf, fishing, camping, driving his RV, working on classic cars, and a good campfire.

Don is survived by his wife of 67 years, Edna Mayse; sons, Mark and his wife, Cherie, of Roseville, California, and Gregory and his wife, Lisa, of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandson, Erik; three great-granddaughters, Mia, Simone, and Fiona; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Nora Mayse; brothers, Lowell and Millard Jr.; and sisters, Eliza, Ina, Delma, and Ada.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023, until the time of Don's funeral at 10 a.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 8426 S. Hwy 287, Fort Collins, Colorado.
