Donald Philip Taylor, 87, of Clyde, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at The Willows at Bellevue. Don was born December 15, 1937, to George and Lucille (Gategar) Taylor. He married Jean Dickman, September 4, 1965, in Clyde. Don was a loyal husband and father. He was a devoted family man and an enthusiastic fruit farmer, a profession he retired from after many fulfilling years. Don's zest for life was infectious and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Don was a 1955 graduate of Clyde High School and later owned and operated Taylor & Sons Fruit Farm. He was an active member of Kiwanis Club and Ohio Fruit Growers Association. Don was passionate about his community and its history, spending countless hours reading old books, articles, and newspapers. He was also an ardent supporter of kids' sports and activities, especially Clyde Biddy Wrestling. His love for driving and traveling was only surpassed by his love for his family, his dogs, and his fruit trees.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Jean Taylor of Clyde; sons, Michael (Melissa) Taylor of Clyde, Jeff Taylor of Clyde, Stephen (Jenny) Taylor of Centerville, Brian Taylor of Findlay, Keith (Alisha) Taylor of Clyde and Matt Taylor of Clyde; daughters, Kelly (Nick) Robinson of Findlay and Cheri (Dan) Sibthorp of Bothell, Washington; brother, Tim (Melanie) Taylor of Clyde; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Taylor; mother, Lucille Taylor; and sister, Sue Smith.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Auxter-Recker Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2025, at the funeral home, with Pastor Wally Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at Bakertown Cemetery.
Memorial contribu-tions in honor of Donald may be made to Buckeye Hospice or Clyde Biddy Wrestling program.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Buckeye Hospice and The Willows at Bellevue.
