Dorothy R. Thomas, 79, of Bay View, passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 29, 2024, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 26, 1945, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School. Her most recent job was manager of Bay View Center and she was a full-time domestic caregiver to her family. Dorothy was baptized into the Christian Church.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Tammy) Thomas, Charles Thomas, Lisa (Bob) Garcia, and adopted son James (Laura) Duncan; grandchildren, Toni Thomas, Jason Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Jared Garcia, and Jacob Garcia; great-grandchildren, Tateum Jones, Delaney Russell, Morly Thomas, Charlee Thomas, Kennedy Thomas, and Michael Thomas; siblings, Jack Preston, Thelma Preston, Roberta Preston, Dixie Preston, and Cristina Halbert; sister-in-law, Joyce Howell; nieces and nephews, Wallie Kincaid, Marilyn Tucker, Pricilla Fox, Nora MaHaRaJa, and Linda Bitner.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Thomas; son, Louis Thomas; grandson, Chuckie Thomas; parents, Charles and Vernice Keel; brothers, Tommy and Jimmie Preston; and nephew, Billy Kincaid.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. and 1 p.m. until the time of Dorothy's services at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Pastors Tony Robinson and Wally Kincaid will officiate.
