Edward Arthur Fitzgerald, 83, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 14, 2022, at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Ed was born Sept. 21, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Arthur C. and Eleanore (Vouwie) Fitzgerald.
Ed was a veteran of U.S. Marines who proudly served his country from 1956-1957. He was a member of VFW Post 2529, American Legion Post 83, and also a member and finance officer for AMVETS Post 17. Ed worked for White Motors in Cleveland for many years then as a consultant for Ford Motor Company before retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Erie for many years.
Ed is survived by his companion of over 22 years, Bonnie Braddock; sons, Richard of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, Donald (Debbie) of Vermilion, and David (Sandra) Fitzgerald of Winter Haven, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol (Gerry) Bradnan of Columbia Station and Ellen (Robert) Knowles of Austintown; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Friends may call 12-2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.
