Eleanor (Garcia) Hernandez, 82, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at her home under hospice care, surrounded by her family.
She was born January 2, 1942, in Fostoria to Francisco and Ameila (Frausto) Garcia. Eleanor attended St. Mary's Catholic Schools and, as an adult, was a member of Sandusky Church of God. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching Cleveland Browns and spending time with her family.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Carmen Reed of Sandusky, Lisa Dyess of Ocala, Florida, Bruce Reed of Milan, and Otis Reed Jr. of Sandusky; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Ophelia Durso of Huron; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Jose, in 2019; daughter, Anna Reed; and sister, Anna Rameriz.
Friends may call from 10-12 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Sandusky Church of God, 1018 W. Bogart Rd., Sandusky. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Sandusky.
Those wishing to contribute to Eleanor's memory may do so to the church.
Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
