Elise Brown Obituary

Elise Anna LaVerne Brown

Jul 4, 1980 - May 29, 2023

Cleveland

Elise Anna LaVerne Brown, 42, of Cleveland, transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home Monday, May 29, 2023, at Pleasantview Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Elise was born July 4, 1980, in Sandusky, to Catherine Edwards Sullivan and Steven Brown Sr. In her childhood, Elise loved going to the skating rink and was always skeptical about the things surrounding her. She always wanted to know what everything was and always questioning why.

After spending a short time growing up in Sandusky, Elise moved to the Cleveland area. As she became a teenager, she loved being with her Banbury friends that she attended Warrensville Heights High School with. Elise dedicated her life to Christ and was baptized at Holy Trinity Baptist Church. As she became a young adult, she began employment and she loved working. She worked several housekeeping positions and at Ollie's Bargain Outlet in Sandusky and assisted with preparing the store for the grand opening.

Having children changed Elise's life. She devoted her life to her children who brought infinite joy and happiness to her life. They were always doing different family activities, playing games, and celebrating birthdays and graduations. She was their rock. Elise was a people person who loved life and everyone loved her. She was always helping others. She loved the outdoors, playing scratch off lottery tickets and bingo, cooking, eating, spending time with family, and the holidays (probably because she was a holiday baby).

Leaving to cherish Elise's memory is her fiancé', Brent Diaz Adams Sr. of Cleveland; daughters, Dioria Tichina Catherine Brown of Sandusky, Christianna Lee'shanti Catherine Brown and Myriacle Catherine Zella Adams, both of Cleveland; son, Brent Diaz Brown Adams of Cleveland; granddaughter, Serenity Spencer of Sandusky; mother, Catherine Edwards Sullivan of Cleveland; father, Steven Brown Sr. of Sandusky; stepmother, Shasta Brown of Sandusky; brothers, Tyrus Antwana Edwards of Toledo, and Fred TaShawn Edwards Sr., Steven Brown Jr., Marcus (Kristin) Brown, and Andrew (Daisy) Brown, all of Sandusky; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Elise was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mary Zella Brown Page and Marvin Odell Edwards Sr.; paternal grandparents, Thirkee and Anna Brown; uncle, Calvin Brown; aunts, Laverne Barron, Mary Ann Wilson, and Irene Edwards; and cousins, Jevon Wilson, Calvin D. Churchwell Sr., Jerry C. Webb Jr., and Takirah L. Brown-Skelton.

A celebration of Elise's life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, until the time of her funeral at 12 p.m. at Porter's Memorial C.M.E. Church, 1722 Third St., Sandusky. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
