Emma Jay Cummins was born asleep in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023.
Emma was the treasured daughter of Zach and Savannah Cummins.
Emma got to meet her late maternal grandfather, Jerry Hayes, as she crossed through the pearly gates of Heaven.
Emma is survived by her maternal grandmother, Kena Hayes; paternal grandparents, Joe and Lauren Cummins; aunt and uncles, Kinlin and Nick Charcut, Jeremy Cummins and William Co; cousins, Brady and Beason Charcut; and doggy, Miller.
Emma gave us a lifetime of love in the short time we got to spend with her. Sometimes we don't know why things happen. We certainly don't know why this happened and that's OK because we know that we have a God who loves us and this is all in his plan. Some people only dream of angels. We held one in our arms.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at The Chapel in Sandusky, until the time of Emma's service at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Eric Lapata presiding.
In lieu of flowers, Zach and Savannah ask for donations to help fund the start of the Emma Jay Foundation, www.Emmajay.org, a foundation that will set out to support parents that experience the same devastation and have to plan a funeral they never expected.
