Enid R. Scheck, 96, of Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, July 9, 2022, at Providence Care Center following a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 24, 1925, in Sandusky, to the late Sylvester and Lucille (Smith) Mantey.

Enid was a 1943 graduate of St. Mary's High School and retired from the City of Sandusky Income Tax Department after many years of service.

Enid was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

Enid is survived by her daughters, Patricia DaGiau of The Villages, Florida, and Sandra (Tony) Bartzen and Donna (Rosario) Barone, both of Sandusky; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Including her parents, Enid was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Richard J.; her infant daughter, Barbara; two sisters, Mary Lauber and Margaret Young; and two brothers, James Mantey and Edward Mantey.

Friends may call Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 9 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky, Ohio. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Groff Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
