Evelyn R. Connell, 97, of Huron, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at Mill Manor, Vermilion.
She was born March 30, 1926, in Lorain. She graduated from Lorain High School and was a long-time resident of Huron. She was a life-long member of Hungarian Reform Church, Lorain.
Evelyn was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Marc (Linda) Connell; daughter, Kelly (James) Spehar; grandchildren, Amanda (Adam Evans) Connell, Thomas (Katie) Connell, Sheri (Nicholas Kolada) Connell, and Autumn (Heather Richards) Spehar; great-grandson, Mack Connell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred, whom she married in 1946; parents, Frank and Rose Chonko; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Ruth Chonko; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tommy and Lily Connell.
Visitation for family and friends will be 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, with interment following at Elmwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mill Manor, Vermilion, for their compassionate care.
