Franklin A. Mahler, 82, of Marblehead, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at his home. He was born Nov. 20, 1939, in Rossford, the son of Joseph B. and Gladys (Scott) Mahler Sr. Franklin was a machine repairman for U. S. Gypsum and then later for Delphi, retiring in 2004. He was a member of Local 913, Sandusky, and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury. He came from a large family and he was a loving man who cherished all of his family. He enjoyed bowling, was a huge Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan, avid Cleveland and Ohio State fan, and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Surviving are his children, Thomas (Michele) Mahler of Franklin, Kentucky, Beth Mahler of Marblehead, and Scott (Amanda) Mahler of Clyde; grandchildren, Brandy (Jeremy) Young, Brittany (Trevor) Drish, Danielle (Richard) McLaughlin, Allen (Ashley) Miller, Noah Mahler, and Derek Mahler; great-grandchildren, Thomas Young, Ella Young, Levi Drish, Richard McLaughlin, Jase Miller, Joseph Miller, and Jaxon Miller; siblings, Patricia (Gilbert) Wadsworth of Marblehead, Evelyn Bodi of Marblehead, Wally (Linda) Mahler of Marblehead, and James (Rita) Mahler of Marblehead; brother-in-law, James McGee of Port Clinton; sister-in-law, Lucy Mahler of Marblehead; and dogs, Max and Nena. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Christopher (Dolores) Mahler, Jack (Gloria) Mahler, Joseph (Darlene) Mahler Jr., Barbara McGee, Carol (William) Covey, Gerald Mahler, and Ellen Mahler.

Franklin's funeral will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd., Lakeside-Marblehead. Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
