George Roy Steele Jr., 89, of Sandusky, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, at Parkvue Healthcare Center.
He was born June 7, 1935, in Wintersville, and graduated from Wintersville High School.
Roy worked for Ohio Edison, retiring in 1996.
He is survived by his children, Dean (Laurie) Henrichsen, Caryl (Michael Routa) Henrichsen, Linda Henrichsen, and Marc (Brenda) Henrichsen; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Steele; parents, George R. and Mary (Starkey) Steele Sr.; grandson, Pat Routa; sisters, Anna M. Homola, Mary Henrichsen, and Lois Steese.
Visitation for friends will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, until the time of George's funeral at 11 a.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Roy's name to Life Out Loud, 904 ½ W. Washington St., Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or Padriac Routa Memorial Foundation 104-1 Middle Ave., Elyria, Ohio, 44035, patroutamemorial.org.
