Gerald Holscher Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Holscher

Nov 17, 1938 - Oct 30, 2022

Omaha, NE

Gerald "Jerry" Holscher Jr., 84, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family, wife, Sandra, daughter, Susan (Rob), Jennifer (Bill), and grandchildren.

Jerry was born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Sandusky with three siblings, Carol (deceased, Tiffin), David (Huron), and Sally (Sunbury, Ohio), by his loving parents, Marcella (Tillman) and Gerald Sr. Jerry attended St. Mary's and University of Detroit and joined U.S. Army after college. He met Sandra McCready in 1964 and they married a year later. He had a long successful career in commercial hardware sales from which he retired in 2008. He spent time with friends, enjoyed many hobbies from bird watching, playing guitar, and completing the New York Times Sunday crossword, and was a thoughtful, patient, playful grandpa to his grandsons.

His friends and family will miss his sophisticated humor, sweet disposition, ability to converse with anyone, and his love of travel, music, and culture.

We miss and love you very much, Dad, 'see you in a minute.'

David and family. As kids we all looked up to Jerry. Years later I ran into Jerry at the Hardware show and took some time to catch up with him. I was with Kohler and I believe he was repping some company we were interested in buying. He was very helpful with our study. I really enjoyed our brief time toether and recall how 'cool" I thought he was. My profound condolences to you. Sure would be great to get together when we visit Sandusky.
