Green D. Blackmon, 92, of Sandusky, was called home by his heavenly Father on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023, at The Meadows at Osborn Park under the care of Southern Care Hospice.

He was born July 31, 1931, to Ester Noel and Arby Blackmon. He was employed by and retired from Ford Motor Company in Lorain after 30 years of service. He was a member of Father's Heart Church. Mr. Green, as he was affectionately called, was a dance instructor for 20 years and Jujitsu karate instructor. He enjoyed and played several instruments, was an avid sports fan of Cleveland teams, and volunteered his time to Victory Kitchen. Mr. Green could be found at the Bob Evans counter many mornings and loved spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Green is survived by his son, Steven D. Blackmon; goddaughter, Charlene Philon (Desmond Sr.); niece, Doris B. White (aka Brenda); nephew, Semon Johnson Jr. (Charlayne); and long-time friend, Rommel McKinney (Viola).

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Glendra Blackmon; godmother, Mollie Goss; and godniece, Diane Johnson.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2023, until the time of his funeral at 12 p.m. at Father's Heart Church, 2211 Mills Street, Sandusky. Pastor Debra Lusher will officiate. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Toft Funeral Home and Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
