Gregory Hinds Obituary

Gregory D. Hinds

Jul 18, 1965 - Jun 10, 2024

Sandusky

Gregory "Greg" Hinds, 58, of Sandusky, sadly passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, leaving behind his sense of humor and his hospitality to family, friends, neighbors, and every stranger he met.

Greg was born July 18, 1965, to Rick and Cathy Hinds. His siblings, Terri, Rick, and Bill remember him as the brother who always made them laugh and who always gave them a helping hand.

Greg graduated from Margaretta High School in 1983 and began working in the concrete business where he made lifelong friends that felt more like family. He most recently worked at Hermes-Parker Concrete and truly loved his job and his co-workers.

Greg married Kelly (Lawrence) Hinds on April 25, 1998. Together, they raised their beautiful daughter, Jenna Fuentes, and eventually welcomed their son-in-law, Alex Fuentes, into the family and then their grandson, Evijah. Dad/Grampy spent his time being the jokester, the antagonist, and the most loving husband/father/grandfather we could have asked for.

Greg was a lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes and a Cleveland Browns fan. He loved ketchup potato chips, dessert and coffee beers, traveling with his wife, hanging out with Evijah and Aria, spending time with family, cooking for family, trips to Canada, and spending time on the water. He also had a massive sweet tooth.

From helping with his daughter's art projects in school, building unique furniture pieces, and problem-solving car troubles, Greg could do it all and his family and friends will deeply miss his creativity.

We will miss you Greg, enormously. Please hug all of our loved ones that we have lost, Catherine Hinds (mother), Haldon Lawrence (father-in-law), Mark Marinik (dear friend), Grandma Phillips, Grandma and Grandpa Hinds, and countless others that he loved so dearly.

Left to cherish Greg's memory is his loving wife, Kelly Hinds; their daughter, Jenna Fuentes, (Alex); grandson, Evijah; father, Rick Hinds; mother-in-law, Gail (Jim) Hood; brothers, Bill (Meredith) Hinds and Rick Hinds; sister, Terri (Mike) Duskin; sister-in-law, Kim (Matt) Williams; nephews, Austin, Shawn (Ashley, Callie, Brody), and Seth; nieces, Kailly (Dre, Jalen, and Aria) and Domonique; and Gregory Schippel and Cachae White, who also had a special place in Greg's heart.

We love you Greg. Until we meet again.

Visitation for friends will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, until the time of Greg's funeral at 12 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, with Pastor Todd Nielsen presiding.

Since Greg liked to build things, those wishing to contribute to Greg's memory may do so by donating to Habitat for Humanity, 7602 Milan Road, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870.
