Henry Coffey Obituary

Henry Lee Coffey

Mar 9, 1946 - Mar 2, 2026

Sandusky

Henry Lee Coffey, 79, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Monday, March 2, 2026, at Admiral's Pointe, Huron, after a lengthy illness.

Henry was born March 9, 1946, in Sandusky, and was the loving husband of Jane E. (Riemenschneider) Coffey, with whom he shared a life since their marriage February 15, 1975. A proud alumnus of Perkins High School, class of 1964, he also graduated from the Sandusky Police Academy. Known for his exceptional work ethic, Henry's career spanned several local organizations, including Carmelo Ruta, Inc., August Corso & Sons, Inc., and Providence Hospital, where he brought diligence and integrity to every task he undertook.

In his spare time, Henry pursued a variety of passions that illustrated his love for life and nature. He was an avid gardener, loved bowling, hiking, riding his bike, cooking for his family and friends, playing cards, and playing computer games. Above all, he held a special fondness for Hocking Hills, regarding it as his second home, where he frequently retreated to bask in its serene beauty.

Henry leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion through his family, including his devoted wife, Jane; his son, Frederick (Kelly) L. Coffey; brother, Donald (Ann) Johnson; and sister, Betty Pfanner. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry W. and Margaret A. (Harple) Coffey; brother and sister-in-law, Jack (Wanda) Johnson; and sister, Carol Cockerill.

Per Henry's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
