Collins

Hillard R. Rose, 88, of Collins, passed away peacefully Monday morning, Sept. 5, 2022, at Norwalk Memorial Home. He was born Sept. 13, 1933, in Dickinson, Virginia, to the late Fannie (Barton) and Clinard Rose.

Hillard enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, spending time with his family, and fellowship with his friends. He was passionate about sharing his faith and was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church. He worked as a welder, most recently with New Departure Hyatt in Sandusky. Hillard was also a Master Free Mason for over 50 years.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 70 years, Erma (Farmer) Rose; son, Kenneth (Sue) Rose; grandchildren, Lisa (Jon) Hast-Caskey, Bryan (Jenny) Hast, Kristin (Casey) Freeland, and Jennifer Rose; and great-grandchildren, Jaden, Junah, Kathy, Kenyen, Parker, and Piper.

In addition to his parents, Hillard was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Rose Hast; brothers, Henry Mason (Annette) Rose, Lawrence Cecil (Pat) Rose, and Zane Grey (Sue) Rose; and sister, Ana Lee (Woodrow) Viers.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, 250 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022. Hillard's funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Pastor Joe Grof officiating. Burial will follow the service at Collins Cemetery. Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to Calvary Baptist Church, 250 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, Ohio, 44857.
