Homer Allen Perry Jr., 62, of Sandusky, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, at home with his wife by his side after a courageous, nine-year cancer battle.
He was born in Wise, Virginia, to Homer Sr. and Edna Perry. Homer had many jobs in his lifetime as he was a jack-of-all-trades. On the weekends, you could catch him outside swinging on the porch if the weather was nice, piddling with his motorcycles, managing his tomato plants, or piled up in his recliner with his companion, Gizzie, watching NASCAR or football. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt and Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved to be surrounded by his family, but especially his grandchildren. They meant the world to him and kept him on his toes at all times.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Anita "Karen" (Harvey) Perry; daughter, Sarah Perry (Justin Haslett); grandchildren, Justin Jr. "his booger," Arissa "his little pea pod", and Jasiah "his little baby"; sister, Joanne (Carlton) Robinson; brother, Bruce Perry; sisters-in-law, Janice (Marvin) McKinney and Melinda Harvey; nieces and nephews, Marlana Anderson, Kaleb (Ashley) McKinney, Isaiah Perry, Matt (Summer) Perry, and Alexia (Cliff) Phoenix; special great-nephew, Aiden Anderson; and several other great-nieces and great-nephews.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents; mother- and father-in-law, Helen and John Harvey; brothers, Linnie Perry and Larry Wayne Perry; sisters, Darlene Anderson and Janie Perry; niece, Destiny Pilkenton; and two great-nieces.
Visitation for friends will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Homer's funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, at the funeral home with the Rev. Ben Patrick presiding. Burial will follow at Castalia Cemetery.

So sorry to hear that Homer passed. Was one of my favorite co-workers of all-time. I worked wunder Homer from '87 to '89 at Pizza Brothers. We used to play ping-pong with a pressed foil ball, and 2 small pizza pans on slow afternoons. Sometimes we'd hang out at the counter, and be people-watchers of the customers of 7-11 across the street. I coined a phrase I can't repeat here, but Homer got a kick out of it, Lol. We had a lotta laughs. Had a great sense of humor, and was basically a real cool dude. Rest in peace boss, 'The Wheatster'...
