Irene F. (Daisher) Kurtz, 88, of Sandusky, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Bell Township, Pennsylvania, to Blaine and Marie (Bouch) Daisher.
Irene graduated from Punxsutawney High School. She was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, taking care of her house, and spending time with her family.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Diane (Rich) Lentz of Sandusky; grandchildren, Jason (Shana) Lentz and Heather Lentz; great-grandchildren, Maia and Leah; sister, Shirley Swarmer; numerous in-laws; and nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin P. Kurtz in 2018; and brothers, Clarence "Toot" and Clair Daisher.
Visitation for friends will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2023, until the time of Irene's funeral at 12 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Pastor David Hixson will preside. Private burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery.
