Jack Jessee Obituary

Jack J. "Redd" Jessee

Dec 27, 1957 - Jan 23, 2024

Clyde

Jack J. "Redd" Jessee, 66, of Clyde and formerly of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at Firelands Health, Sandusky.

He was born Dec. 27, 1957, in Sandusky, to Jack and Hester (McPeek) Jessee. Redd was a 1976 graduate of Huron High School.

Redd worked in irrigation and landscaping for Irrigation Specialists, Barnes and Baileys, was the jack all trades, planting many trees and built many irrigation systems that keep Sandusky beautiful today.

Redd was bigger than life with an infectious grin. He loved golfing, Dallas Cowboys, Michigan Wolverines, listening to music, Christmas time, and Santa. He had a passion for Super modified racing, following Shullick Racing (Shue Sr. and Shue Jr.) at Sandusky, Oswego, and many other race tracks. His grandsons were his pride and joy.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Tammy (VanVlerah) Jessee, to whom he married right before his death after being together for many years; children, Logan (Hollie Hallingshead) Jessee, Emily (Seth Clayton) Rang, Kyle Rang, and Kylie Roberts; grandsons, Connor and Hunter; brother, George Bradley "Brad" Isner; sister, Kate Smith; nephew, Nick Smith; niece, Ashley Smith; best friend, Scott Schaefer; and numerous cousins and other family members and friends.

Redd was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Stanley C. Smith.

The family would like to thank Dr. Avendo, Dr. Ashley Burkholder, and the ICU nurses and respiratory staff at Firelands Health for the great comfort and care given to them, and helping to arrange our wedding.

Redd's celebration of life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at V.F.W. Post 2529, 604 W. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Chaplain Doug Neubauer will lead the celebration. All are encouraged to wear their racing attire.

Memorial contributions may be made to Erie County Humane Society, 1911 Superior St., Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.

Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
