James A. Grady

James A. Grady, 82, residing in Milan, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 28, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.

James was born June 17, 1941, in Newark, New Jersey, to Robert and Carol Grady.

James was a veteran of U.S. Navy who proudly served his country on the U.S.S. Fortstall. He retired from General Motors as a tool and dye maker after 35 years of service. James was a member of American Legion Post 83. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

James is survived by his daughter, Karen Mayfield of Milan; son, James (Michelle) Grady Jr. of Florida; grandchildren, Amy (Robert) Cummings, Jason (Chelsea) Mayfield, Mitchell Grady, and Alex Grady; three great-grandchildren, Audrey, Lynk, and Lynox; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gale A. (Goehring) Grady in 2019; sister, Joan McKinney; and two brothers, Robert and John Grady.

Private family graveside services will be at Milan Cemetery.

Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory will be assisting family with arrangements.
