Defiance

James Allen "Jim" Hageman, 92, of Defiance, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Monday evening, Nov. 21, 2022, at Kingsbury Place in Defiance.

He was born June 7, 1930, in Wauseon, to Oliver and Nola (Woodward) Hageman in Wauseon. Jim was a 1948 graduate of Wauseon High School. He proudly served our country in U.S. Army. He married Joyce (Lillich) Hageman on Sept. 2, 1950, and she survives.

Jim worked for several years at ANR Pipeline until his retirement. He enjoyed camping and traveling, and loved spending his winter months in Yuma, Arizona.

James will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 72 years, Joyce Hageman, of Defiance; daughter, Toni (Gary) Borchardt of Castalia; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Hageman; daughter, Teri Hageman; and brother, John Hageman.

There will be no visitation or services.

Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist family with arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary Catholic Church.
