James E. Jim Krupp

Muncie, Indiana

James, Krupp, 70, of Muncie, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2025, at his residence. Jim was born in Bellevue August 22, 1954, the son of Donald R. and Frances Elve (Muscetta) Krupp.

Jim attended Pike School in Bellevue and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School and Bellevue Junior and Senior High School. During his high school years, he worked at International Metal Hose Company and NBC stores in Bellevue and Norwalk, Ohio. Jim was a lifetime member of the Eagles No.490.

Jim was hired in March of 1977 with Norfolk & Western Railroad at Blaire Yards in Fostoria. Other stations were at East Wayne and Lima. Jim was a Conductor working out of Frankfort, Muncie, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, and later at Decatur, Illinois, for a total of 38 years working for the railroad until retiring February 23, 2015.

Surviving is a brother, Donald R. Krupp Jr. and twin sister, Mary J. (Krupp) Pocock.

A service celebrating the life of James Krupp will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru, with the Rev. Michael Block officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru. Family and friends will gather from 12-1 p.m. Tuesday at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to Catholic Diocese.

My deepest condolences to Jim´s family and friends.... Jim was one of my best friends from back in days at Immaculate Conception School in Bellevue . For most all of our 7th and 8th grade years we were together either walking the tracks and hopping trains behind his house or in his basement working on his huge Lionel train layout.

Jim was as true railroader. His love for trains and railroading started early in life and never left him; particularly his fondness for all things New York Central and Penn Central. As a kid he managed to talk switching crews into taking him for rides in the caboose... Imagine that today!!!. Jim was also a true Cleveland Indians fan and loved the Ghoulardi and Hoolihan and Big Chuck shows. Jim will be missed by his many friends and co- workers....

Jimmy, until we meet again...keep it on the tracks and on time!!
