Jean M. Alexander, 95, of Findlay, passed away at 7:47 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Birchaven Village. Jean was born in Findlay, March 9, 1930, to the late Harry Charles and Faith (Parker) Smith. She married Joe H. Alexander, May 21, 1949, and he preceded her in death September 19, 2020.
Jean is survived by six children, Lee Ann (Melvin) Karhoff of Findlay, Marsha Curry of Gahanna, George (Nancy) Alexander of Forest, Tracy (Thomas) Flavell of Melbourne, Florida, Matthew V. Alexander of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Margaret (Kevin) Karhoff of Findlay.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Kelly Roberts, Brent (Marcella) Curry, Beth (Nathaniel) Hagey, Scott (Rachel) Flavell, Andrew (Jessica) Flavell, Melissa (Andrew) Harris, Tiffany (Nathan) Riker, Lindsey (Aaron) Walker, Joe (Maegan) Alexander, Matt (Megan) Alexander, Parker Alexander, Kelsey Alexander, Jeffrey (Lauren) Karhoff, and Rachel Karhoff; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles F. Smith and W. Seely Smith and a son-in-law, Michael Curry.
Jean loved all things small, be it a baby or a dollhouse. She was happiest near water and with her family. She was a 1947 graduate of Findlay High School. She attended Miami University and Findlay College. She retired from Parker Lumber Company and was the owner of Parker Miniatures for over 25 years. She was a charter member of Mini Magic Miniatures Club. She and her husband, Joe, served as foster parents for several years. She was a Camp Fire Leader for over 20 years and also served as a board member for both St. Michael School in Findlay and Family Services. Additionally, she was a volunteer and board member for the Wide World Shoppe.
Jean was a member of St. Michael Church for 63 years, where she was a member of Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia, and was involved in Cursillo, Retreat and Pre-Catechumenate programs. She was also a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Port Clinton, Ohio and Our Lady of Grace Church in Palm Bay, Florida.
Visitation will take place from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio 45840. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
