Jeffrey "Jeff" Paul Franks, 55, dedicated husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2022.

Jeff was born April 7, 1967, in Sandusky, to James "Jim" and Mary (Heckenbach) Franks.

He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1985 before attending Firelands Community College where he met his wife, Kelly. They married Sept. 21, 1991, and went on to have three children, Ashley, Katey, and Emily.

Jeff worked as a tool maker at Ford Motor Company for 26 years where he was a member of UAW #1250 in Brookpark, Ohio. He grew up as a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky. Through the years, Jeff enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, listening to music, enjoying nature, and spending time with his family.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Kelly (Recard); their children, Ashley, Katey, and Emily; father, Jim; brothers, Greg (Shelly) and Mark (Stephen); nieces, Lauren and Lindsey; and nephew, Dylan Recard.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Heckenbach) Franks.

Jeff's family wishes to extend a special thanks to the dedicated staff of Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center for their care, compassion, and support throughout his battle with prostate cancer.

Friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Jeff's life in the way he would want to be remembered - as a loving and caring man who enjoyed life.

Friends may call 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, until the time of Jeff's memorial services at 1 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Wally Gilbert will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Back to the Wild in memory of Jeff's love for nature and wildlife or American Cancer Society to support further cancer research in his memory.
