JoAnn M. Parron, 84, of Berlin Heights, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
She was born Aug. 29, 1939, in Elyria, to John and Helene (Flood) Hahn.
She graduated from Elyria Catholic High School in 1957 and proudly served as homecoming queen in 1956-1957.
JoAnn worked as a educational aide in science and social studies with the Berlin –Milan School District in the middle school for 23 years and grade school for five years. She also worked for Berlin Heights country pride and Cedar Point cash control where she enjoyed working with college-aged adults for 20 years.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron, and American Legion Auxillary, Berlin Heights. JoAnn was honored this year as Huron County Senior Fair Queen and also at Norwalk Memorial Home. Her family gave her the title of Soup Queen for making her delicious potato soup. She was a very care-giving person.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Erika) Parron of Scottsboro, Alabama, Ron (Mindy) Parron Jr. of Grand Junction, Colorado, Jane (Jeffrey) Stuhldreher of Norwalk, and Becky (David) Gebelle of Huron; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Parron Sr. in 1990; and brother, John "Jack" Hahn.
Visitation for friends will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, until the time of JoAnn's funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron, Ohio, 44839. Father Bob Sanson will officiate. Private family burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Berlin Heights.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron.
Toft Funeral Home, Hinman Chapel, 38 South St., Berlin Heights, is handling arrangements.

To Jane and family - so sorry to learn of your mother´s passing. How fortunate we got reacquainted when I was doing communion services at the nursing home. I did meet you there also. We worked together in the 60´s at Morrow Grocery Store in Monroeville. She was a precious lady!

To the family of JoAnn
I got to know her very well when I worked with her at the Cash Control office at Cedar Point. I think I worked with her for about 15 years. The people in that office became a family, thanks in large part to JoAnn. She was so personable, kind, and a great worker. You could always talk to her about anything and she was a great listener. She also kept us very well fed with "toast time", sweet corn, her famous potato soup and many other delights.
I smile when I remember how often we laughed and had so much fun in the office. We would get together for dinners on occasion and even went to JoAnn's house for a cookout and wiffle ball!!
She was a true gem of a person and I will miss her dearly.
