Joanne E. Paule, 88, of Sandusky, peacefully passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Feb. 18, 1934, in Sandusky, and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1952. She was a member of the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sandusky, and also was a member of the former Maccabees. Joanne enjoyed doing puzzles and crosswords and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her biggest joy was surrounding herself with family and friends sharing great food and stories.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Harry Appleman) VanDootingh and Sue Freeman; son, Donald A. (Sue) Paule; four grandchildren, Claire Willer, Seth Will, Troy (Alexa) Willer, and Erin Paule; four granddaughters, Emily, Abby, Avery, and Cheyanne; sister, Barbara Kaufman; numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and loved ones, including special nieces, Tammi and Beth.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Paule in 2002; and siblings, Ellen Malson, Frank "Bill" Borsick, Paul Borsick, Lois "Jean" Borsick, June Wallace, Douglas "Joe" Borsick, and David Borsick.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Joanne's funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stein Hospice Care Center, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870. Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.ransomfuneralhome.com.
