John Lewis Jarvis, 87, passed away Thursday October 9, 2025, at The Willows at Bellevue. He was born November 1, 1937, in Newton, West Virginia, son of the late Lewis and Sallie (Noe) Jarvis. He attended Newton Grade School and Spencer High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany from 1961 to 1964. He moved to Bellevue in 1965 and started working at Armstrong Air Conditioning until retiring in 2000. He married his wife, Virginia Ann (McGinn), in 1972 in Norwalk. He enjoyed going to flea markets, looking at and working on cars and trucks of all kinds, working outside in his yard and remodeling his home. John especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.
He is survived by a daughter, Sally M. (Jim) Ruffing; grandsons, Trent and Grant Ruffing of Grove City, his brother, Roger (Brenda) Jarvis of Bellevue, and nephews David (Malia) Jarvis of Bellevue and Rodney (Gidget) Jarvis of Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Virginia Jarvis; his parents; a brother, Joe (Mary) Jarvis; and nephew, Dennis Jarvis.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. till tim eof funeral services at noon Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Auxter-Recker Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue, OH 44811. Burial will be at Bellevue City Cemetery.
Memorial contribu-tions in honor of John may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
