John D. Schiewe, 75, of Port Clinton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky. He was born Oct. 15, 1949, in Port Clinton, the son of Kenneth and Evelyn (Seawater) Schiewe. John retired from Drawbridge Marina in Port Clinton, where he was the parts manager. He was an accomplished carver and woodworker and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of Port Clinton V.F.W. and Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 2295 Port Clinton.
Surviving are his son, Adam (Rachel Petrilli) Schiewe of Port Clinton; sister, Mary Rohde of Catawba Island; and his ex-wife, Karen (Mike Herbert) Schiewe of Gypsum.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, at Christy Chapel Cemetery, Port Clinton, with Port Clinton V.F.W. presenting military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.

John and I were friends and classmates since the 2nd grade at Jefferson elementary school. We were able to reminisce a bit recently when I visited him at Riverview. Rest in peace old friend.
