Joseph Alec Csorba, DO, 87, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Cherished husband of 64 years of Carol (nee Menz); beloved father of Dr. Robert Csorba (Dr. Magaly Lopez-Csorba) and Dr. Todd Csorba (Cheryl); devoted grandfather of Jessica, Eric, Maria Dolores (deceased), Chloe, and Dr. Alexander Csorba; loving great-grandfather of Callum; dearest son of the late Joseph Adam and Mary (nee Szucs) Csorba; and dear brother of Mary Ann and the late Janie Csorba.
Joe dedicated his life to medicine. A graduate of the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine, he worked as an anesthesiologist for over 30 years. He passed down his love of medicine to his two sons and grandson, who all became physicians themselves. He even had the opportunity to work with his son Todd when they were in the same practice, Sandusky Anesthesiologists, for four years.
His passions weren't limited to medicine, however, as he was an avid snow skier and golfer as well. He shared his love of golf with his wife, and they played on leagues, both individually and together. Their home in Arizona was on a golf course, so they were able to spend most of their time on the greens. His time on the courses was well spent as he managed to get two holes-in-one during his golf career!
His love of the outdoors wasn't limited to land, however, as he also enjoyed being on the water on his boat with Carol, Todd and Bob water skiing or fishing. Joe and Carol also explored the wider world, taking international trips with friends and family.
While he cherished his travels, Joe also loved staying at home, where he and Carol enjoyed hosting family gatherings and he could fire up the BBQ around the pool. He was known for his incredible sense of humor and told jokes and stories to the delight of all who knew him. While he had an amazing gift for making people laugh, he had another talent that he loved to share with others, singing, for he was also gifted with a beautiful voice!
While his family was incredibly important to him, his four-legged family was just as special. His favorites were easily his dogs, and to his last days, he and Carol were never without them in their home. They weren't just pets, but truly members of the family, including Wimpleton Jack aka "Wimpy", Rags, Oliver, Comso and finally Leo, who was there to bid his loving owner goodbye on Sunday.
Joe was quite the character with a real zeal for life, and he will be remembered for many reasons by those who knew him. From his compassion and skill as a physician, his ability to make others laugh at his jokes or smile at his singing, his notoriously short fuse in his younger years, and his inability to be still as he always had to be doing something, even if it was just working in the yard. Joe truly made an impact on all who knew him. However, he was perhaps known best as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and it was the impression he left on his family that will live on the longest and will be most deeply missed by those whose lives he shaped the most!
All services for Joe will be private.
