Joseph Kidwell Obituary

Joseph U. "Joe" Kidwell

Sep 6, 1940 - Feb 14, 2024

Bellevue

Joseph "Joe" Kidwell, 83, residing in Bellevue, and formerly of Huron, went to his heavenly home Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, after a lengthy illness. He passed peacefully at Bellevue Care Center, where he had resided since April, 2023.

Joe was born Sept. 6, 1940, in Sandusky. He was a 1957 graduate of Huron High School.

Joe served in U.S. Air Force for four years in the early 1960s.

He was employed at the Ford Assembly Plant, Lorain, retiring after 30 years. He was a member of York Chapel, Bellevue.

He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Joe loved drawing (especially cartoon characters and animals), singing in church, eating Italian food (especially his Mom's), listening to and playing music, yodeling (he was good at it), and talking to his sister, Mari, nearly everyday on the phone. He loved to make people laugh and telling jokes.

Joe is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Sears); stepdaughters, Shelly (Searight) Gettys, Lori Ann (Searight) Miller, Patti (Searight) Crosson, and Becky (Sears) Kinchee (Jay); daughter, Corinna "Cori" (Fiorvanti) Davis; son, Jason (Tracie) Kidwell; sister, Mariann "Mari" (Norman) Bostater; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Kidwell; mother, Angeline (Esposito) Kidwell; brother, Dominic Kidwell; sister, Martha "Marti" Kastor; sister, Pattiann "Patti" Stropko; and stepson, Kenny Searight.

There will be a celebration of his and his sister Patti's life later in the spring with family members.

Memorial contributions can be made to Stein Hospice Services Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky Ohio, 44870, or York Chapel, 2252 TR 292, Bellevue, Ohio, 44811.
