Castalia

Josh "JB" Veliz, 35, of Castalia, died unexpectedly Friday, June 20, 2025, at his residence.

He was born June 19, 1990, in Sandusky, and after attending Margaretta Schools, he received his GED.

He is survived by his mother, Tammy Easterwood; his father, Jimmy Veliz; son, Mateo Veliz; sisters, Chrystal Matter and Candra (Adam Sibley) Matter); brother, Jordan Veliz; his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Carr; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Josh was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, John Carr; paternal grandparents, Raul and Mary Veliz; aunt, Rosemary Gonzales Veliz; and uncle, Jesse Veliz.

A Celebration of Life will be from 4-6 PM Wednesdy, June 25, 2025, at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mateo Veliz in care of the family.
