Judith Meyers Obituary

Judith A. Meyers

Apr 26, 1937 - Oct 29, 2024

Bluffton, SC

Judith A. "Judy" Meyers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, at the age of 87.

She was born April 26, 1937, in Sandusky, to Donald and Mary (Poggiali) Richey. Judy's presence filled the lives of all who knew her with laughter, warmth, and love.

For 68 years, Judy was devoted to her husband, Ronald Meyers Sr., her one true love. Together, they traveled the world and raised a close-knit family. Their four children, Ronald Jr. (Suzette), Robyn, Kelly (Perry), and Kevin (Jeanine), were the center of her world. Judy's legacy lives on in her adored grandchildren, Ron III, Ashley (Tanner), Meghan (Scott), Corey, David, Jenna, and Judianna, as well as her great-grandchildrenm Hunter, Ethan, and Cameron. She also had a special place in the hearts of her sister and brother-in-law, Donna Richey and Tommy Joe Meyers, and was a beloved aunt to her dear niece, Mary Lee Richey, Mark Meyers, Jeff Meyers, Amy Matthias. Judy was a caring cousin to Sharon Clifford, Karen Leigh Hopkins, Kim DeVilbiss, and Tammy Pahl. Judy was a lifelong friend to Shirley Rutger Gantt.

Referred to affectionally by her aunt Stella and uncle Mike Kevesdy as "Judy Wonderful," Judy was known as a decorating diva with a strong sense of Feng shui.

Her vivacious spirit allowed her to celebrate life with tremendous energy, laughter, and sense of adventure. Her undeniable presence was felt on the tennis court, at the card table, holiday celebrations, and family gatherings. She loved games and was good at them all! Her culinary talents were legendary. She could whip up anything in a moments notice. Her cheesecake and key lime pie were family favorites.

After Hurricane Ian devastated their home and business on Sanibel Island, Judy and Ron moved to South Carolina where they happily joined "The Meyers Compound." There, Judy found peace amid "her village," birdwatching on her lovely back patio, enjoying her family, and the company of her very spoiled beloved dog, Gracie.

Judy's legacy is one of creativity, passion, resilience, and fierce love of family. She will be remembered for her loyalty, independence, sense of humor, and great laugh.

Judy's celebration of life will take place at her home to honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Judy's honor.

Judith Ann Meyers will be deeply missed, but her vibrant spirit and dynamic energy will remain in our hearts forever. She was truly one of a kind!

Judy Meyers was a wonderful whirlwind of energy! Growing up on North Bayview Lane wouldn´t have been the same without Judy! I had a hard time sitting still on the stool while she cut my hair!
