Judith "Judy" A. (Hildebrand) Ryan, 79, residing in Huron, died Monday afternoon, July 25, 2022, surrounded by her family at ProMedica Toledo Hospital following complications from a hip surgery.

Judy was born Nov. 8, 1942, in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Martin and Cora (Nissen) Hildebrand. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1960 and then Bowling Green State University. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron, where she has resided for the past 50 years. She was a well-known figure in Huron where she taught at McCormick Junior High for 35 years. She was an active member of Huron Education Association and OEA. She was also active in Huron Historical Society.

Her favorite activities included reading and discussion with her good friends in her book club as well as playing "bridge" with "the girls." She also loved to travel with her husband, Mike, and spend time in Siesta Key, Florida, in the winter. Her passion was doing genealogy for her friends and family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and many friends.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Michael; sons, Kerwick (Molly) Ryan of Huron and Jude (Stacey) Ryan of Pfluegerville, Texas; sister, Joann Missler of Bellevue; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Roth and Sally Ryan, both of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Saj and Jas Ryan of Pfluegerville, Texas, and Owen and Kate Ryan of Huron; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many good friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Joseph Ryan of Sandusky, Terry Ryan of West Covina, California, and Norbert "Porky" Roth and Joseph Camella, both of Sandusky; and sister-in-law, Pat Camella of Sandusky.

Family and friends may call 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022, at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron, Ohio, 44839. A celebration of life service will take place 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at Foster Funeral Home.

Judy and I taught together at McCormick in the late 1980s. She was a lovely, kind lady and co-worker. Deepest sympathy to Mike and all of her family and friends.
