Judy Faye (Gilbert) Cardwell, 86, of Sandusky, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center.

She was born May 29, 1938, in Sibert, Kentucky, to Walter and Elizabeth (Jones) Gilbert. Judy married William "Bill" Cardwell, the love of her life, on Aug. 27, 1955. She was a dedicated house wife and mother of five children. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with her family.

Judy is survived by five children, William E. (Mary) Jr., Peggy Wooten, Michael (Rita) Cardwell, Linda Hall, and Patti (Lynn) Mruk-Joseph; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Flora Harold; and numerous other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; brother, Harold Robert Gilbert; and sisters, Thelma Lewis, Lillian Gregory, Mary Rathfeldor, Christine Cricket Pocock, Henrietta Montgomery, Imogene Hummel, Lorraine Kline, Hilda Chime, and two in infancy.

At Judy's request, cremation will take place and the family will celebrate her life privately.

Those wishing to contribute to Judy's memory may do so to Alzheimer's Association.
