Katie Bugel, 48, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 2, 2023.
Katie was born Dec. 23, 1974, in Sandusky, to Don and Carol (Havens) Bugel.
Katie graduated from Perkins High School in 1993. Katie grew up and spent her childhood in Bay View. She was a free spirit and was never afraid to break boundaries. She loved Kelleys Island and worked there for many years.
Katie is survived by her son, Hunter James Torres of Sandusky; parents, Don and Carol Bugel of Sandusky; and brother, Scott D (Andrea) Bugel of Milan.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, until the time of Katie's memorial service at 4 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.

I grew up next door to Katie and we had the time of our lives riding our bikes to Strawberry Hill, playing in the creek, and making forts in the barn and woods! She had a rope in her back yard we would swing from for hours! I am so sorry to hear of such a loss for all ! I will always remember our fun times we had.
