Kevin Allan Mills Sr, 49, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born December 11, 1976, in Sandusky to Terry R. Mills and Barbara J. (Burr) Mills.

Kevin was a truly great man in every sense of the word. He was a devoted husband, a proud son, and a deeply loving father whose family was always at the center of his life. He believed in showing up, not just in the big moments, but in the everyday ones that mattered most. Whether it was a conversation at the kitchen table, a drive across town, or simply being there when someone needed him, Kevin made sure his family knew they could count on him no matter what. He led by example, teaching his children the value of hard work, loyalty, and standing by the people you love.

Kevin was especially proud of his daughter, Raven, and everything she accomplished. He never missed an opportunity to talk about her and the path she chose. One of the moments he held closest to his heart was traveling to Missouri to attend her basic training graduation, something he looked forward to and often spoke about. Watching her reach that milestone filled him with pride that words could hardly capture. When Raven later deployed to Iraq, Kevin remained one of her strongest supporters. He stayed involved in her life from afar, asking questions about her experience, wanting to understand what she was going through, and making sure she always felt supported and never alone. He admired her strength and dedication, and in many ways, the commitment she showed reflected the same values Kevin lived by every day. Their bond was built on mutual respect, pride, and an unspoken understanding of always being there for each other, no matter the distance.

Kevin also took great pride in his daughter Hayleigh and cherished the time he spent coaching her in softball. Those years on the field meant everything to him, not just because of the game, but because of the time they shared together. He was always there, cheering her on, offering advice, and celebrating every success along the way. To him, it was never just about winning or losing; it was about being present and making memories that would last a lifetime.

With his son, Kevin Jr., Kevin shared one of his greatest passions, bowling. Monday nights at the bowling alley with friends became even more special when he was able to pass that love down to his son. He took pride in teaching him the game, spending hours together on the lanes, laughing, learning, and growing closer with every frame. Those moments were more than just a hobby; they were a reflection of the bond they shared and the legacy Kevin was passing on.

Outside of bowling, Kevin loved spending time fishing with his children. Whether it was a quiet morning by the water or a long day filled with stories and laughter, those moments were ones he

deeply valued. He didn't need anything fancy, just time with his kids and the chance to enjoy life together. Those memories will forever be cherished by his family.

Anyone who knew Kevin knew the kind of person he was. He had a warm, welcoming presence that made people feel comfortable the moment they met him. He was easy to talk to, always willing to listen, and never quick to judge. He had a way of making people feel understood and supported, and he carried himself with quiet strength and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone around him. He was the kind of man people respected, not because he demanded it, but because he earned it through the way he lived his life.

Above all else, Kevin loved his wife, his children, and his mother with everything he had. He was incredibly proud of the life they had built together and the family they had become. Being a husband and father was not just a role to him; it was his greatest purpose and his proudest accomplishment.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Theresa J. (Emerick) Mills of Norwalk; his children, Raven Emerick, 27, of Columbus, Hayleigh Mills, 23, of Norwalk, and Kevin Mills Jr., 15, of Norwalk; his mother, Barbara J. Mills of Sandusky; his sister, Kim (Tom) Moore of Toledo; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Terry R. Mills and his niece, Nicole Rose.

A celebration of Kevin's life will be at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

Kevin's love, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family will never be forgotten. The lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely will live on through those who knew him. Though he is gone, the impact he made as a father, husband, and man will continue to be felt for generations to come.
