Larry Kessler Obituary

Larry Leroy Kessler

Jun 10, 1942 - Jul 27, 2023

Norwalk

Larry Leroy Kessler, 81, residing in Norwalk, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 27, 2023, surrounded by family after a lengthy illness.

Larry was born June 10, 1942, in Fayetteville, West Virginia, to Roy B. and Elsie (Brown) Kessler.

Larry retired from Ford Motor Company after 43 years of service. He was a devout Christian and loved to sing and praise the Lord. Larry enjoyed traveling, especially during his 50-year Southern Gospel singing career with The Fisherman Quartet, a group made up of several family members who sang at churches throughout many states. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandkids.

Larry is survived by his wife, Debra (Hipp) Kessler, whom he married July 15, 2000; seven children, Yvonne Ehrenfried, Joyce (Eric) Shea, Yvette Kessler, Chad Kessler, Larry Keith (Crystal) Kessler, Devon Kessler, and Colette (Tim) Berger; three stepchildren, Joseph Koelsch, Kristen Harris, and Kylie (Chase) Grealy; 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Kincaid; brother, Mike Kessler; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and 12 siblings.

A celebration of Larry's life will be 12-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at Mesenburg Plaza Place, 545 Cleveland Road West, Huron, Ohio, 44839.

Those wishing to contribute to Larry's memory may do so to Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or Sims Memorial Methodist Church, WV, in care of Pamela Cameron, 8501 Millicent Way, Apt. 1136, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71115. The donations will be given in Larry's honor at the 50th Family Reunion in July, 2024.

Had the privilege of growing up playing music with him for about 5 years. He could sing any part of a quartet sound. Had so many great time´s traveling with him and his brother . God has another wonderful Kessler voice with him . he will be missed.

I met Larry a couple of times when he came to my clothing alteration business Linda's Needles & Pins. I enjoyed talking with him and he would tell me bout how he had a gospel singing quartet and traveled around the States singing at various churches. He was such a sweet and kind and charismatic man. I could tell he was a devoted Christian who lived his faith. Today and for eternity Larry is residing in his heavenly home with his beloved Savior. I was privileged to have met him. I am sorry for your loss and I hope the following verse will bring your family comfort during this difficult time. Just imagine this is what Larry was greeted with when he left his earthly home and entered his eternal Heavenly home. What must it be to step on shore and find it-HEAVEN;
To take hold of a hand and find it-GOD´S HAND;
To breathe new air and find it-CELESTIAL AIR;
To feel invigorated, and find it-IMMORTALITY;
To sail from the care and turmoil of earth
To one unbroken calm;
To land there and find it-GLORY.

Larry was a good man and and friend. I will always remember him as a respectable man. I knew him through my mothers daycare and my church where he came and sang quite a few times. And breakfast at Milan. He will be in heavan when we get there.
