Leslie W. "Les" Hall

Leslie W. "Les" Hall, 68, of Clyde, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born Dec. 5, 1953, in Sandusky. He attended Sandusky High School then entered U.S. Navy, serving from 1971-1973. Les had many careers, including the Coal Docks, Erie County Sheriff's Office, and was a local, small business owner, including Otto's Pizza and Family Tax Service.

He was Sandusky City Commissioner from 1981-1989, serving the citizens of Sandusky faithfully for two terms and was instrumental in laying the groundwork that overhauled Jackson Street Pier and the revitalization of Shoreline Park, as well as bringing paramedics to Sandusky Fire Department. He was a member of Erie County Democratic Central Committee, President of Sandusky Jaycees, VP of Jaycee Youth Foundation, Chairman of Jaycees Christmas Tree Sale, had many positions within his church, and was a member of American Legion Post 83, AMVETS Post 17, VFW 2529, and Sandusky Eagles.

He loved watching THE Ohio State Buckeyes, poker, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Les is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debra (Bower) Hall; children, Scott (Susie) Hall, Nickolos (Hillary) Hall, Michael (Tammy) Hall, Greg (Abby) Hall, and Lorissa (Jacob) Stout; grandchildren, Cassidy, Taylor, James, Ashley, Madison, Aliyah, Jackson, Grace, Charlie, Logan, Maxwell, and Kaycen (due in November); great-grandson, James, and one more on the way; sister, Michelle Spencer; and other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his foster parents, Walt and Irene Spencer; son, Leslie W. Hall Jr. in infancy; brother, Donald Hall; and sister, LuAnn Erney.

Private burial will take place. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at New Life Church, 6511 Milan Rd., Sandusky. A celebration of Les' life will begin at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements. Condolences may be shared by visiting toftfuneralhome.com.

Deb sorry to hear of Les's passing. He has sure suffered long enough. He is at peace now and watching over all of you. Hugs and prayers to you and your family. Miss our chats and more.
