Lewis James Ebner, 85, passed away among family due to complications related to lung cancer and COVID-19.

Lewis was the second of five children born to Lewis Ebner Sr. and Augusta (Pigorsch) Ebner of Sandusky. Lew graduated from Sandusky High School and was the first in his family to attend college. He earned his Bachelor's degree at Capital University, then received a Master's in Physics from Ohio University. Upon graduation, he joined Sperry Univac, working contract for U.S. Navy in San Diego, California. It was there he met his wife of 58 years, Mary (Rabago) Ebner, and started a family.

Lew eventually craved a new vocation and environment and moved the family to Oregon's Willamette Valley, where he worked in HVAC engineering and farmed Christmas trees as a hobby. When he and Mary retired, they moved to Portland to be near grandkids.

Lew is survived by his wife, Mary, of Portland, Oregon; daughters, Andrea Hoy of Alameda, California, Laurie Marstall of Kerrville, Texas, and Valerie Cunningham of Portland, Oregon; six grandchildren, Cameron, Jameson, Josephine, Jamie, Will, and Jon; brother, Donald Ebner of Norwalk; and sister, Delores (Ebner) Flohr of Sandusky, and their families.

Lew will be remembered for his quiet and gentle nature, easy smile, and wicked sense of humor.
