Loretta Lorene (Martin) McGory, 87, of Columbus, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, December 24, 2025, at Riverview Care Center in Columbus following a lengthy illness.

Loretta was born October 28, 1938, in Ashland, West Virginia, to the late Harry L. and Jessie J. (Puckett) Martin.

She attended Northfork High School in Northfork, West Virginia, and later attended The Ohio State University. Loretta was employed as a systems manager with Columbus Jewish Federation for five years. She was a past member of Milan Garden Club and proudly served as past president of NASU Computer Group in Columbus. In her spare time, Loretta enjoyed interior decorating, gardening, reading, and traveling. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

Loretta is survived by her children, David A. Rose and Stephen B. Rose, both of Longs, South Carolina, and Michelle L. (Bryan) Ireton of Dublin, Ohio; stepchildren, Mark J. (Mary Anne) McGory, Blake S. (Dee) McGory, and James G. (Kate) McGory Jr., all of Sandusky; 12 grandchildren, Lauren, Samantha, and Jack Rose of Longs, South Carolina, Madalyn of Asheville, North Carolina, Tessa, and Sophia (Sarah) Ireton of Dublin, Ohio, Bradley (Elizabeth) and Elizabeth McGory of Sandusky, Robert (Hilliary Meisner) Camstra of Columbus, Kayla Camstra McNamara (Harry) of Hurley, New York, and Sabina Pesoshina and Sasha McGory of Stockton, California; three great-grandchildren, Poppy McNamara and Rowan McNamara of Hurley, New York, and Elliott Camstra Meisner of Columbus.

In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James G. McGory, in 2018, and her brothers, Thomas H. Martin and Wilford L. Martin.

Special mention of her ever-faithful companion, Cricket.

Services for Loretta will be at a later date, with inurnment to take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park in Huron. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory of Sandusky is assisting family with arrangements.
