Lula (Porter) Rollison, 77, Sandusky, passed away peacefully at her home tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024.
She was born to the union of the late S.P. and Beatrice Porter on October 9, 1945, in Sunflower, Mississippi.
Lula was employed by Sandusky Plastics/Georgia Pacific for 39 years, and she received her certification in early childhood development after her retirement to help tutor young children.
She was a member of Harvest House Missionary Baptist, and for a long time was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Lula was very active in her community where she was the former president of the city usher board. She was currently on the American Legion Women's Auxilary, the National Council of Negro Women as well as the Busy Bees. But putting it in her own words, her greatest joy in life was being the mother of her two sons, Kenneth and Jason Rollison.
Lula leaves to cherish her memory, son, Kenneth (Debra) Rollison and Jason (Mileasa) Rollison; grandchildren, Kenneth II, Olmni, Morgan (Christian) Howard, and Jazmin; great-grandchildren, JaLeasa and Monroe; brother, Samuel Porter; sister, Nellie Taylor; special niece, Betty Burmester; special nephew, Kyle Porter; her Golden Girls, Deborah North, Christine Crayton, and Rhoda Simmons; as well as other relatives and friends.
Lula was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elroy, who passed away July 20, 2014; parents; siblings, Sallie Lee, David, Benjamin, Molan, Willie, Peter, Albert, and Betty; along with other relatives.
Friends may call Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, from 10 a.m.. until time of funeral services at Noon in Eagles Nest Church International 2126 Pipe St., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Lula will be remembered for her cooking and baking skills, her German Chocolate Cake and Sweet Potatoe Pie were just two of the many family favorites! She was loved by all and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

To the family of Lula Rollison. We, the members of Sandusky City Wide Awareness Council, have to say a temporary goodbye to one of our dearest members. Lula was a joyful person at all times and she was always eager to do whatever was asked of her. We will truly miss her presence and laughter at our meetings. To the family and friends, we send our love, prayers and condolences. Lula will truly be missed by us. We will always cherish the visits we shared and the sweet potato cream cheese pies she used to bring to the house. I personally will miss our many talks about the older days growing up on Clay and Harrison Streets. We love you, Lula, now R. I. H.
