Margaret Brainard Obituary

Margaret Brainard

Jan 29, 1939 - Jan 19, 2024

Huron

Margaret E. Brainard, 84, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, in Cuyahoga Falls.

She was born Jan. 29, 1939, in Barberton, to Harold and Margaret (Abel) Wilson.

Margaret was a bookkeeper and worked for various doctors' offices, churches, and retired from a dental office in Sandusky. She was an organizer of Campus Crusade in Angola, Indiana, where she worked to form an inclusive group with various types of student groups.

She enjoyed sewing and tailoring her family's clothes, gardening, and farming. Her farm in Hamilton, Indiana, was a source of learning and pride. Her farm in Nova, Ohio, was a leisurely endeavor where she was able to enjoy nature. Margaret loved music from singing with the family, church worship, and dancing while she did chores. She made birthday cakes, Christmas treats, and even learned to make many products from scratch when she lived in South America. She could be counted on to listen and be a source of strength to friends, family, and strangers alike.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Gary Brainard; sons, Doug Brainard and Mike Brainard; daughter, Christine Davis; sisters, Dorris Sturm, Anna Lee Bodi, and Martha Wayner; grandchildren, Lily Brainard, Wilson Brainard, Anne Stormer (Joe), Luke Davis, Josh Davis (Missy), Max Davis, and Katy Capron (Sean); and great-grandchildren, Kaley Sticka (Tavis), Tyler Capron, Myra Stormer, Sabrina Davis, Alexis Davis, and Alivia Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Wilson; and brothers-in-law, Jack Brainard, Max Brainard, Bill Wayner, Jim Bodi, and Dick Sturm.

Visitation for friends will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.

Margaret's memorial service will be at a later date.

We will miss Marge. She always had a smile, which made those who saw her smile too. There is no doubt that God has welcomed another angel into Heaven.
